Munsiyari is a small village nestled in the lap of the Kumaon Hills in Uttarakhand. According to Tibetian language, 'Mun' means snow and 'Siyari' means place. The village of Munsiyari experiences snowfall during the winter months.from December to March. Situated at an elevation of 2290 m, the prime attraction of this place is the awe inspiring view of the snow capped peaks of Panchachuli. Munsiyari is surrounded by forests of Pine and Deodar. Munsiyari is also a paradise for trekkers with a number of trekking routes starting from this village.

The nearest railway station is Kathgodam and Lalkuan. Hired cars are available from both Kathgodam and Lalkuan to reach Munsiyari via Almora-Bageshwar-Birthi.
