Lamahatta

Lamahatta is a new hill destination near Darjeeling which is being developed by WBTDC. This eco-tourism destination is coming up as a part of the Darjeeling-Lamahatta-Takdah circuit. The place is perfect for honeymoon couples. Lamahatta is situated at an altitude of 6500 ft. The prime attraction of Lamahatta is its untouched natural beauty. The magnificent Kanchenjunga mountain range and the Teesta river adds to the beauty of this place. A number of trekking route are also there at Lamahatta.

How to Reach

The nearest rail head is New Jalpaiguri. Trains are running from Kolkata and other cities of India to New Jalpaiguri. From Siliguri you can reach Lamahatta via Jorabungalow. Another route takes you from Siliguri to Teesta and then Lamahatta via Lopchu. Lamahatta is 23 km from Darjeeling and 41 km from Kalimpong.
